Marcy has been a nonprofit leader for over twenty-five years, including thirteen years as Executive Director of one of the most prominent zoo conservation organizations in the State of Indiana. Throughout her career she has served several mission-based nonprofit organizations in the areas of human and social services, animal welfare and conservation. With an extensive background in fundraising and nonprofit leadership she has successfully raised millions in public and private funding for the nonprofits she has served.

Marcy has spent the last six years serving international NGOs in Thailand and East Africa in the areas of animal rescue and rehabilitation, wildlife conservation, One Health, youth education and women's empowerment. She’s worked with Happy Doggo in Thailand and with Mara Elephant in Kenya, the Sasamani Foundation in Tanzania and Conservation Through Public Health in Uganda before joining the Kasiisi Project. 

Marcy holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Natural Resources Communications from Michigan State University and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame University.

She has traveled extensively in East and South Africa on conservation-based trips igniting a passion for conservation, youth education and women’s empowerment causes in Africa.
